Nano Eyeliner

What it is: A highly pigmented eye pencil.

What it does: Sephora Brand Nano Eyeliner glides on smoothly and comfortably, creating a lovely line of color. Shea butter and rosemary extracts make this formula soft and easy to work with.

What else you need to know: Make impact with your eye look—this must-have comes in an amazing range of colors, for va-va-variety!

A few weeks ago I was perusing Sephora and picked up two of the Sephora brand Nano eyeliners to add to the collection. I tested the “Glitter Black” and the “Beige Pearl” and decided to take those home for a spin. Today I picked up four more colors, “Lagoon,” “Azur Blue,” “Wild Violet,” and “Silver Green.”

My thoughts: Overall they live up to the description, they glide very smoothly and are really soft. They have great pigment, similar to L’Oreal H.I.P. and for only $5, it’s a deal. However, they are about half the normal size of a normal pencil.

1. Beige Pearl – like a soft gold color, I think it’s great for lining the lower lash line and the tear duct
2. Black Glitter – super pigmented, even darker than my favorite black liner, Urban Decay “Zero,” plus it has the glitter in the crayon. It’s very fine glitter so it’s not very noticeable.
3. Silver Green – the name says it all… It’s a metallic green, but the silver softens it
4. Wild Violet – I’m all about purple and I liked this one because it more on the bluer side than pinky. I love purple smokey eyes so I think this will come in handy
5. Azur Blue – darker than your average blue, but far from navy and slightly more matte than the other colors
6. Lagoon - a dark teal color, it’s a bit metallic, and stands out

Also… I’m such a sucker for packaging and the new Revlon Color Blast tubes are uber cute! I was looking for a new nude lipcolor, so I got “Soft Nude” today.  The product is good, the color is a little too pale for my skin alone, so I paired it with My Too Faced Mirror Mirror lip gloss in “I’m Perfect.”

What’s weird about this is that I am a sugar and grits kind of girl… always have been. However after hearing so much about the corn grits at Zea’s Rotisserie I decided to try them a few weeks ago when I went for my bestfriend’s birthday.

OH-EM-GEE I fell in love… so rich and buttery… just good!!

After mulling over ordering them to go today, I thought maybe I’d see about making them at home. So I looked up this recipe and they came out so good. I keep taking bites of them even though I’m full as a tick.

[of course there are some substitutions to make it a little easier]

Ingredients
2 cups water
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup yellow grits [I couldn't find them so I used regular Quaker instant grits]
1/2 pound butter
1 tablespoon salt
1 ear grilled corn, kernels removed [I used one can of corn and sauteed them in butter]

Directions
Bring liquids to a boil. Stir in grits. Add butter. Cook at simmer until thickened [about 10 minutes with instant grits]. At end, stir in corn.

This recipe makes enough for a small army so next time I think I’ll cut it in half.

In honor of the New Orleans Saints winning the NFC Championship marching on to the Super Bowl, I thought I share one of my favorite looks… a gold and black smokey eye. How fitting for the Who Dat Nation right!?

I guess I was a little too close to the cam, so it’s a bit out of focus! Eek. Gotta work on that!

• CK Cream shadow in Gold Velvet (since CK cosmetics is out of stores, you can find another gold cream shadow or skip this step)
• Gold shadow – Stila Pearl Palette
• Bronze shadow – Maybelline Green with Envy Eye Studio Quad
• Black shadow – KLS Diamonds Noir
• Highlight – NYX Highlight (forgot to say it in the video, it’s actually called Highlight)
• Black NYC Liquid Liner
• Urban Decay Eyeliner in Zero
• L’Oreal HIP Chrome Liner in Gold Charge
• ULTA Cream Blush in Shy
• L’Oreal HIP Jelly Balm in Savory

Also the nail color in the video is a gorgeous bronze color Shim-Merry Chic by OPI… It has metallic flecks as well.
